Across West Africa, farmers work hard to bring in their harvests. Yet between 30-80% of food and grain is lost before it ever reaches the market. The problem isn’t the harvest itself. It’s what happens after. Inadequate storage, poor handling and weak production infrastructure mean food security ultimately declines.
We want to change that.
Today we announce a new strategic partnership with DMT Collateral Management, led by CEO Paul Sannie Minlah.
Together, we will deliver innovative post-harvest technologies and safer, more efficient grain storage solutions to improve food quality, reduce losses and strengthen agricultural value chains across the region.
A regional partnership with impact
DMT Collateral Management is one of Africa’s most established names in commodity risk management and warehousing. From its base in Ghana, the company has built a footprint now spanning 32 African countries, supporting traders, processors and financial institutions across the continent.
What sets DMT apart is its ability to operate at scale in some of the most challenging markets, ensuring the protection of crops, commodities and capital at every stage of the value chain.
Under Minlah’s leadership, DMT has earned a reputation for deep regional expertise, operational discipline and absolute reliability. Now, his team will represent us in Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, and Ivory Coast, helping us expand our West African presence and give local markets the tools they need to thrive.
Building real expertise — the right way
One of the biggest mistakes we see in tackling global food and grain challenges is assuming technology alone solves everything. We could have given DMT our solutions and finished there. But if the team doesn’t understand how to use them effectively, their impact is limited.
That’s why bringing Minlah and his team — Seidu Akakade, Femi Olaiya, and Emmanuel Gyan Mensa — to our Danish headquarters was critical. We spent several days testing our solutions, troubleshooting them and exploring how they perform in real-world conditions.
This kind of intensive hands-on training was a deliberate approach: Equip partners with the expertise, and the results will follow.
Looking ahead
This collaboration aims to build resilient food systems, infrastructure and security — and improve the lives of millions across West Africa. We look forward to working closely with the DMT Collateral Management team in the coming months to see how we can strengthen food security meaningfully across the region.
