Raiffeisen Lagerhaus, with its branch RLH Weinviertel Ost eGenis one of Austria’s leading agricultural cooperatives, plays a vital role in supporting farmers across the country. Its production facility in Laa an der Thaya is a key hub for grain processing and an essential link between harvest and market.
But with demand for efficiency and quality growing dramatically, the RLH team knew it was time to modernise. That’s where Cimbria stepped in, marking the third major project the two have undertaken together.
The Laa an der Thaya facility has a long history, built around its original concrete silo. But this silo could no longer keep pace with today’s market demands. To move forward, RLH demolished its storage floor infrastructure and replaced it with a state-of-the-art grain processing plant — a clear sign of the cooperative’s commitment to modernisation and to the success of its members.
Cimbria’s solution: a complete, high-performance processing plant
Cimbria designed and supplied the new facility’s core components, creating a fully automated plant that manages the entire post-harvest process.
The harvest first moves through an efficient receiving system, followed by a powerful pre-cleaner that removes impurities. From there, the grain passes through an existing dryer to reduce moisture before moving into modern conveying lines and storage silos. Every step is connected, ensuring not just greater capacity but also the highest quality grain, ready for mills and food processors.
At the heart of the system is Cimbria’s Delta 157 pre-cleaner, capable of processing up to 120 tonnes per hour. In connecting points to the existing facilities, built-in CIM_SAFE technology provides maximum protection, using highly sensitive infrared sensors to detect and prevent potential fires. An aspiration system completes the line, keeping emissions as low as 10 mg per cubic metre.
In total, the facility now offers 3,232 tonnes of storage capacity, divided between four new round hopper silos (511 tons each) and four smaller hopper silos (297 tons each).
Efficiency, quality, and future growth
The collaboration with Cimbria has transformed the facility into a highly efficient and reliable grain processing plant, now able to move larger volumes of grain faster and with greater precision. Its advanced cleaning capabilities ensure product integrity, while the modern storage solution provides long-term security.
This investment not only modernises the facility but also strengthens RLH’s connection to its members, supports continued growth and secures its place as a cornerstone of the regional agricultural economy for years to come.
