Function
The tilting arrangement consists of a concrete foundation cast together with a grain reception pit which is covered with a heavy duty road way steel grate.
The truck tilter platform is made of RHS beams and steel plates. The truck passes over the steel grate and drives upon the platform where it is halted. The driver must verify that the rear wheels do not rest on the top of the hydraulic wheel-stop sets.
When these wheel stops have been elevated close behind the rear wheels the tilting of the truck can take place.
As the grain slowly runs into the reception pit the tilting of the platform continues till the truck is empty.

Description of the platform
The platform is of an extremely rigid construction manufactured mainly from RHS profiles and heavy duty steel plates. An inspection door is located in the deck of the platform in order to allow access to the hydraulic system, and a hoisting door above cylinders.
The hydraulic cylinders are securely fastened in a heavy frame.
When the platform is closed (lowered into the steel frame) it rests upon adjustable wooden blocks.
The standard tipping angle is usually 35 degrees, but can be made up to 45 degrees depending on material to be dumped. Raising time is about two minutes and lowering time is approx. 30 seconds.


























Description of the hydraulics
The hydraulic system consists of a pumping unit containing motor and all necessary valves, two smaller cylinders for the operation of the wheel stops and two large telescopic cylinders for elevating the platform.

An electrically operated pressure reduction valve ensures the proper operational sequence of the wheel stop cylinders and the telescopic cylinders of the bridge.
The electrically operated truck tilter can be remote controlled, and is supplied with push button control panel, but without motor relays etc.

Safety device
To avoid damaging the telescopic cylinders a limit switch is mounted on the side wall. When activated, the switch will close the flow to the cylinders.
In case a hose or pipe should burst, a special non-return burst valve ensures that the platform does not drop abruptly.
