The Objective
The CIMBRIA FOUNDATION was founded by Dr. agro h.c. H. Toftdahl Olesen M.Sc., as a public utility in Switzerland with its registered office in Zurich.

The main objective of the foundation is to initiate and/or support activities aimed to improve production, handling and storage technology for food especially in the starving regions of the world.

This is carried out through support of humanitarian projects and organisations to reduce the problems inherent in the increasing population growth. This support are done by means of financial help in humanitarian -, scientific -, ecological - and cultural areas.

The Foundation initiates and/or support particularly activities research work within technology development of methods to ensure basic food for the rapidly growing population. The foundation may furthermore grants gifts and/or loans of honour to individuals, institutes or commercial organisations which supports and raise the technology knowledge.

The primary objective of The Cimbria Foundation is not to send food to the starving millions as the well known humanitarian aid institutes, but rather transfer of knowledge, education and technology, which may have longer lasting effect.

To quote a Chinese proverb:

"Give a man a fish and you will fill his stomach for today - teach him how to catch fish and you feed him for the rest of his life."
